Pearls
I use a variety of pearls, real and faux, in my designs. Fresh water pearls come in many sizes and shapes - rice, button, potato and baroque to name a few. Shell pearls are created with a glass or crystal bead core, then layered with real mother of pearl for natural pearl luster and beauty. I think the finest faux pearls are made by Swarovski. They have the weight of a real pearl and the coating is flawless. They come in many colors, shapes and sizes.
Semi-Precious Gemstone
The world is a big place and the variety of gemstones in it is astonishing! There is always something new at a gem show. I love the pink of rose quartz, the blues of turquoise, sodalite and larimar, the browns of picture jasper and bronzeite - and there are so many more.
Glass
Wonderful glass beads are made all over the world; Japan, the former Czech Republic and right here in the U.S.A. I'm always on the look-out for unusual shapes to create a unique design.
