Cinnamon Stanlow Jewelry

Cinnamon has been creating beaded jewelry since 1989.  Her collection offers something for every woman; from classic to trendy, whimsical to sophisticated.  Beautiful materials, attention to detail and unique designs are hallmarks of her work.  A note from the designer:

"What is "personal style"?  Whatever expresses you at the moment!  You are many things; playful, powerful, fun, sophisticated...Why limit yourself to just one look?  Your personal style should reflect your many moods - that's the beauty of you!  Let my accessories put the punctuation mark on your personal style.  Express yourself!

Inspiration
I am inspired by color, shape and unique design elements such as pendants and focal beads, but mostly I am inspired by my customers - their unique beauty and spirit.  To me, each piece is being made especially for that woman who will eventually choose it or receive it as a gift.  Knowing that you love it, that it makes you feel good when you wear it is my inspiration - why I do what I do!

Materials
I do the shopping for the beads in my designs at local gem shows and I am always on the lookout for unique pendants from local and international artists.  A current favorite is Kat of KBD designs with her picture frame pendants in classic poster motifs.  Also, Vlad & Kremena Ivanov, ceramic artists working at their studio in Bulgaria, who create fresh original pendant and bead designs inspired by nature.  I purchase genuine Murano glass beads and pendants from Via Murano.  The owners travel to Venice yearly to personally choose the best beads from the glass houses there.

Murano Glass
Murano, Italy is a small island off the coast of Venice and has been known for its glass making since the 1200's.  These are family businesses - artists in glass. Well known for their vases and decorative pieces they also make gorgeous beads.  They are all handmade and many have a core of white gold or yellow gold that gives them a special depth and luster.

Swarovski Crystal
This is full lead, cut crystal from the finest house in Austria.  The lead content of the bead is completely non-toxic to the wearer and makes the beads highly refractive - they reflect light the same way that diamonds do.  The precision-cut faceting gives the beads a sparkle not found in other faceted glass beads.
Pearls
I use a variety of pearls, real and faux in my designs.  Fresh water pearls come in many sizes and shapes - rice, button, potato and baroque to name a few.  Shell pearls are created with a glass or crystal bead core, then layered with real mother of pearl for natural pearl luster and beauty.  I think the finest shell pearls are made by Swarovski.  They have the weight of a real pearl and the coating is flawless.  They come in many colors, shapes and sizes.

Semi-Precious Gemstone
The world is a big place and the variety of gemstones in it is astonishing!  There is always something new at a gem show.  I love the pink of rose quartz, the blues of turquoise, sodalite and larimar, the browns of picture jasper and bronzeite - and there are so many more.

Glass
Wonderful glass beads are made in Japan, the former Czech Republic and right here in the U.S.A.  I'm always on the lookout for unusual shapes to add to a unique design.
