Pearls
I use a variety of pearls, real and faux in my designs. Fresh water pearls come in many sizes and shapes - rice, button, potato and baroque to name a few. Shell pearls are created with a glass or crystal bead core, then layered with real mother of pearl for natural pearl luster and beauty. I think the finest shell pearls are made by Swarovski. They have the weight of a real pearl and the coating is flawless. They come in many colors, shapes and sizes.
Semi-Precious Gemstone
The world is a big place and the variety of gemstones in it is astonishing! There is always something new at a gem show. I love the pink of rose quartz, the blues of turquoise, sodalite and larimar, the browns of picture jasper and bronzeite - and there are so many more.
Glass
Wonderful glass beads are made in Japan, the former Czech Republic and right here in the U.S.A. I'm always on the lookout for unusual shapes to add to a unique design.
